Trekking in Chile
Chile, home to wild, rugged and pristine landscapes, really is ideal for a trekking adventure. Whether you’re looking for a gentle day long trek or something over three to four days, you’re sure to find an option to suit you in beautiful Chile. Below you’ll find our suggestions for the best bite-sized trips in Chile to indulge your inner trekker.
Journey to mighty glaciers in Torres
The landscapes of Torres del Paine are a haven for trekkers. That’s why we’ve compiled a mighty six day trip which includes four whole days of trekking through mountain valleys, past rugged peaks and around stunning glacier lakes. Stay in shared dorms with fellow trekkers and swap stories from the day’s adventures.
Wind your way through volcano valleys
Over the course of six days, zig-zag your way from Temuco, through Pucon, over to Puyehue and finally arriving in Puerto Varas – this is the scenic alternative to the Pan-American Highway. Instead you’ll drive along the back roads, stopping off along the way to gaze in awe at active volcanoes, expansive lakes and ancient woodlands. There’s plenty of opportunity to add a spot of hiking along the way. During the trip we have arranged a day’s hike up the famous Villarica Volcano in Pucon.
Hike to mystical statues
Journey to the world’s most remote inhabited island and marvel at the mystifying statues. Your time is free to discover the island under your own steam, so why not take the opportunity to do a little light trekking?
Combine Chile with Argentina
Want to take your hiking adventure to the next level? How about combining Chile with Argentina? With our trip to El Chalten (Argentina’s mecca for trekkers), you’ll hike past glassy lagoons, set off in search of hidden waterfalls and climb to viewpoints that will leave you, quite literally, breathless. It’s lonely beauty at its very best.
