Thundering Waters of Niagara Falls
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Arrival in Niagara Falls
An hour and a half from Toronto lies the famous Niagara Falls. The falls and their surroundings have been transformed into a real tourist attraction, with many museums and colourful entertainment parks located around them. If you want a sneak preview of the waterfalls before your boat trip tomorrow, head to Table Rock Centre for a beautiful view over the Horseshoe Falls where the water plunges into the depths and you can see the mist of fine water pearls rising up.
Day 2 – Hornblower boat tour
This afternoon we’ve arranged a boat tour for you on the well-known ‘Hornblower’, formerly known as Maid of the Mist, sailing sine 1846. Once you’ve hopped on the boat and been handed your blue poncho the boat will sail calmly towards the waterfall. Whilst aboard, you’ll have a view of the impressive and powerful waterfalls whilst hearing about why they are so special.
The closer you get to the falls, the less dry you’l be, and the sound of the thundering water gets louder and louder. Once you’re back on firm ground, you can take a walk behind the falls for a different perspective. As night descends the falls are illuminated with colourful lights and if you’re lucky you may catch one of the firework displays.
Day 2 – Departure from Niagara
If you travel back to Toronto today to continue with your adventure, you can spend the morning in Niagara. From the Skylon Tower Observation Deck, you have a fabulous view of the falls. In addition, the area around Lake Ontario is one of the most famous wine and fruit growing areas so be sure to stock up for your journey.
