Cambodia countryside

Day 1 – Siem Reap – Kampong Thom

Early this morning you’ll be picked up at your hotel in Siem Reap. You’ll journey by public bus towards your Cambodian homestay in Kampong Thom; a peaceful village tucked away in the countryside. Next you’ll exchange your bus for a tuk-tuk for the final leg of the journey.

This is a real cultural Cambodian experience so you can enjoy being part of the village community. There’s nothing planned for this afternoon, so you can spend it exploring the area. Challenge the village children to a game of football and get to know the locals. The Cambodians are known for their hospitality and will do their best to make you feel right at home. Tonight you’ll stay in a simple, traditional Cambodian home.

Day 2 – Cycling trip to Sambor Prei Kuk & departure

After breakfast on day two you’ll head out on bicycle with the rest of your group, and a local guide, to the ancient temple complex Sambor Prei Kuk. The temples are overgrown and derelict in places, but still give you an impressive idea of their former grandeur. Afterwards you’ll wave goodbye to your hosts and continue your journey by private transfer to Phnom Penh.
