Trek your way through remote Cambodia
Explore Cambodia on foot, meeting the locals and swimming in forest waterfalls. From volcanic crater lakes to crumbling ruins, rice paddies and jungle-topped karst mountains, it’s a brilliant place for remote rural treks. Visit minority hill tribes with fascinating rituals, stay in tucked-away eco-resorts and plant a tree to help Cambodia’s natural forests survive.
Swim in forest waterfalls
Buried between the hills of Banlung, you’ll find a natural playground filled with volcanic crater lakes, friendly locals and glistening forest waterfalls. Rarely visited by tourists, it’s a wonderful place to get away from it all and discover real, remote Cambodia. On our Hill Tribes and Totem Poles trip help make inroads into eco-tourism by planting trees at a reforestation project, trek through thick jungle and meet the people of the minority tribes in the hills.
Sunrise in the Cardamom Mountains
Trek through forests and watch the Sunrise in the Cardamom Mountains in southwest Cambodia, meander along remote forest rivers and sleep in an eco-jungle resort. A beautiful nature reserve overlooking Cambodia’s rice paddies and plains, it’s a breath of fresh air and a wonderful place for a secluded wander. Take a dip in jungle rapids, spot wildlife between the trees and feel completely detached from the nine to five.
Lend a hand with the rice harvest
Sleep in a traditional wooden house on stilts, help out with the rice harvest and trek your way through the region of Kampong Thom on our At Home in the Cambodian Countryside trip. As guests of a local family, you’ll learn about rural life, play football with the kids and be treated to classic Khmer home cooking. It’s a great way to swerve off the beaten path and get a glimpse of the real Cambodia, far from Angkor’s tourist throngs.
