Cambodia Cardamom mountains jungle

Day 1 – Into the jungle

The journey to get here is part of the adventure. You’ll be picked up in the morning, and depending where you’re coming from it’ll usually be 2-4 hours until you reach a small lodge on the riverbank, from where your 1 hour boat transfer departs. You’ll spot wildlife in the trees as you travel downriver to the tented camp, and soon you’ll be settling into your luxury tents – complete with proper beds and en-suite bathrooms.

Day 2 – Walking (and kayaking) through the jungle

After some breakfast you’ll meet with some local rangers, ready to join them on a patrol of the now abandoned poaching and logging trails in the area – it’s a gentle enough walk suitable for most children. The rangers are helping to keep this area safe for wildlife, and you’ll doubtless see gibbons, macaques and lots of birdlife, as well as the occasional porcupine and giant squirrel if you’re lucky.

Day 3 – Back to civilisation

If you’re a family of early-risers then you may have time for one more nature walk around the camp, but soon it’s time to hop on the boat again. When you reach the dock, a transfer will be waiting to take you to your next destination.
