Our Amazon river cruise is an adventurous alternative to staying in a rustic jungle lodge on the banks of the river. As you sail along the mighty Amazon River, you'll have your own comfortable cabin with a shower and toilet. Space is limited on board and the weather can be unpredictable, however you'll see much more of the Amazon this way than while staying a lodge. It will leave you with a good grasp of the enormity of this epic river.

Day 1 – Arrival in Manaus – The Amazon

Today you will set sail on the mighty Amazon River to experience this famous area by boat. You’ll stay on a traditional Amazonian flat bottom boat as part of an international group. Today you’ll step into a small canoe and make your way through the densely overgrown creeks. As the sun begins to set you’ll hear the jungle’s nocturnal inhabitants come to life. As you dine back on the boat, the ship will slowly sail onto Acu Creek where it will dock for the night.

Days 2-3 – Exploring the Amazon

During your time sailing along the Amazon River, you’ll take part in a variety of activities. You will go on jungle walks, where you’ll see exotic trees and plants as well as animals scurrying by. The jungle is full of birds, insects and other creatures to spot. You’ll also explore along the waters edge and along the meandering creeks in a canoe. There will be plenty of opportunities for a swim and time to relax and watch the landscape float by.

Day 4 – The Amazon – Manaus

Today is the last day of your sailing trip along the Amazon. After breakfast you’ll continue on to the ‘meeting of the waters’ where two types of river water meet: the yellow-brown Amazon water and the blue-black Rio Negro water. Oddly enough they start out flowing side-by-side for quite some time. After a while the two types of water mix. Eventually you’ll sail back to the pier where you will make your own way back to Manaus airport for your onward flight.
