Day 1 – Kuching to Bako National Park

You’ll be collected first thing in the morning for the short 40-minute drive to the boat terminal. An exciting boat trip awaits for all the family, as you head out first along the river and then the open water of the South China Sea. Weaving past the unique rock formations that line the coastline, after half an hour you’ll arrive at the entrance point to the park, sometimes having to wade through the shallow water as the local monkeys play on the beach.

Settle into your nearby lodge, and then join your guide to explore more of the park on one of the many boardwalk trails, giving the kids the chance to spot wildlife as you go. As the heat begins to fade, you’ll head to one of the secluded beaches and enjoy a Sarawak sunset in this idyllic location.

Day 2 – Exploring the park

Today, you’ll have the chance to explore the park and spot more of its unique wildlife. Depending how fit you’re all feeling, there are several different trails you can opt to do. Pack your swimming gear if you choose to go on the popular Tajor Waterfall trek, as it leads to an idyllic beach where you can all cool off in the surf. Head back to the park headquarters for your lunch, before you all sail back through the mangrove forests to the mainland for your waiting transfer.
