This protected paradise is home to an array of incredible wildlife, including Borneo's most iconic resident - the orangutan. You'll stay in a comfortable, family friendly eco-lodge, and let expert guides lead you through the jungle to discover its hidden wonders.

Day 1 – Lahad Datu – Danum Valley Conservation Area

You’ll be met on arrival at Lahad Datu to begin an exciting family adventure in the Danum Valley Conservation Area. Spanning over 40,000 hectares, this protected tropical rainforest is teeming with wildlife, including orangutans, proboscis monkeys, and even rare animals like the Borneo Pygmy elephant and clouded leopard.

Your family will stay in a comfortable eco-lodge right in the heart of the rainforest, complete with your own fan-cooled wooden chalet and en-suite bathroom. All meals are included, so you can focus on making memories. After a quick orientation, head into the jungle on a guided walk to spot wildlife up close and test your courage on the 300m canopy walkway. After dinner, embark on a thrilling night drive to see nocturnal animals in their natural habitat—a magical experience for all ages.

Day 2 – Explore Danum Valley

This morning, your family will wake up to the sounds of the jungle coming alive. After breakfast, set out with your guide on the fascinating “Coffin Trail.” This trek winds through the rainforest to an ancient burial site of the local tribespeople, where you can see remnants of wooden coffins and hear stories about the area’s rich cultural history. The trail leads uphill to a stunning viewpoint that offers a bird’s eye view of the lush Danum Valley—a perfect spot for a family photo before heading back to the lodge for lunch.

In the afternoon, embark on another jungle trek to search for wildlife. With a little luck, you might spot an orangutan or even a Borneo Pygmy elephant, so make sure everyone keeps their eyes wide open! After dinner, head out again for a guided night walk, where the thrill of spotting nocturnal creatures will captivate explorers of all ages.

Day 3 – Depart to Lahad Datu

Your rainforest adventure comes to an end today. Spend the morning enjoying one last jungle walk with your family, soaking in the sights and sounds of the rainforest. After a final lunch at the lodge, you’ll head back to Lahad Datu to continue your exciting Borneo journey.
