Lak Lake, Vietnam

This picture was taken just before we took a boat ride across Lak Lake, a calm stretch of water that winds through the Da Lak province in the central highlands of Vietnam. This area is primarily used for farming and as we slowly paddled through the lake we spotted water buffalo and locals working in the surrounding rice paddies. The serenity of the highlands is a world apart from the bustling cities of Hanoi and HCMC and was a great contrasting experience.

Monument Valley, AZ

This iconic landscape has been used in many films, including Thelma and Louise and of course Forrest Gump. The sheer size of the sandstone monuments was overwhelming, and the echoes that bounce off make the experience slightly eerie. This photo was taken in the afternoon when the sun was starting to sink down, turning the sandstone a burnt orange colour. Although it may look warm I remember being freezing and wearing about three jumpers!

De Hoop National Park, South Africa

I took this photo of my friend Lou whilst exploring the Western Cape of South Africa. As part of our trip we hired a car and drove east along the Garden Route visiting the coastal towns along the way. After spotting Zebras in De Hoop National Park we found these amazing sand dunes and spent a happy afternoon running around like loons…
