  • Duration:
    2 days / 1 night (flexible)
  • Price:
from £ 583.- per person (excluding flights)
Interested in the life of the gauchos? Spend a night at an authentic estancia, in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park. Immerse yourself in Argentinean farm life, learn how to shear sheep and milk cows. All your meals, including an Argentinean asado (barbeque), are included in your stay.

Day 1 – Stay at estancia in Los Glaciares National Park

Today you will be picked up from your hotel in El Calafate and taken with other travellers to your estancia in Los Glaciares National Park which takes about an hour and a half. The estancia is over 100 years old and overlooks a branch of the Argentino Glacier Lake. The estancia has only a few guest rooms, which preserves the charm of a ranch and gives you a good impression of life on an Argentine ranch. The rest of the day is dedicated to the ‘daily life of the gaucho’. The activities you do depend on your interests and the work that is being done on the ranch at that time. Go horseback riding with the gauchos to catch up with the sheep herds, or learn how to shear sheep. You can also explore the area further on foot or by bike. Dinner including a non-alcoholic drink is included and consists of local Argentine dishes.

Day 2 – The life of a gaucho

After breakfast you will immerse yourself in life on the estancia again. Depending on what you have experienced the day before, you will join the gauchos in a new task such as milking the cows or take a short ride in the area. This could be for example a. the area. After a tasty Argentinean barbecue (asado) lunch you will say goodbye to Patagonian rural life and return to El Calafate with other guests.
