  • Itinerary:

  • Duration:
    4 days / 3 nights (flexible)

Feel the spray of roaring Iguazu Falls, make a brief hop over the the Brazilian side and explore to the surrounding rainforest, where raccoon-like coatis play. A cluster of hundreds of cascades set within the UNESCO World Heritage National Park, Iguazu Falls will leave you deafened and utterly speechless. This is a tropical getaway into a world of frothy waterfalls criss-crossed by rainbows in Argentina’s rainforest. It’s somewhere marked with a touch of magic. You’ll visit both the Argentinean and Brazilian side of the Falls and get a close up encounter with the local coatis - small raccoon-like creatures.

Day 1 – Arrival in Puerto Iguazu

When you arrive in lively Puerto Iguazu, you’ll be collected from the airport or bus station and transferred to your hotel with a tempting pool surrounded by sun loungers. You can spend the rest of the day exploring this small but charming tourist hub full of travellers coming to or from the falls.

Day 2 – Puerto Iguazu

Today, you’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage site of Iguazu National Park independently, giving you the freedom to go at your own pace. Buses depart every 30 minutes to the park entrance and once you’ve paid your entrance fee you’ll hop onto the little park train that takes you to the walkway along the river. On the way, you’ll spot dozens of coatis, a type of raccoon, birds and butterflies. there are three trails around various parts of the falls so get there early to fit them all in.

Arguably the best trail leads over a footbridge across the Parana River to the ‘Devil’s Throat’ in the very heart of the waterfalls. As you approach, you’ll hear the deafening roar of the water thundering into the canyon. If you’re feeling adventurous you can book a jet boat ride locally which takes you up the river, close enough to the falls to get a soaking! After your active day, you can take a bus or taxi back to your hotel.

Days 3-4 – Puerto Iguazu – Foz do Iguacu, Brazil & departure

After breakfast, you’ll be picked up by minibus and make your way to the Brazilian side of Iguaçu Falls for a totally different experience. As the Brazilians say – ‘Argentina has the waterfalls but we have the view’. This is very true – 80% of the falls are in Argentina but, from the walkway on the Brazilian side, you’ll get the best view.

From the border, you’ll drive on to the town of Foz do Iguaçu and then into the park and the starting point of the trail along the waterfalls. If the wind’s blowing from the right direction you’ll be rewarded with beautiful rainbows springing up in the mist of the falls. At the end of the trip, you’ll be picked up again and transferred to your hotel on the Brazilian side. The following day your trip comes to an end, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
