Accommodation in Argentina
When travelling through Argentina you can expect to stay in a variety of different accommodation, befitting to the area you are visiting. We have included small-scale, authentic accommodation wherever we can during our bite-sized trips and itineraries in Argentina. You might start your trip at a boutique hotel or experience true Argentine hospitality at a working estancia in the pampas. A little later on you might find yourself spotting whales from your bedroom window or sitting on a soft sheep skin chair at a cosy Patagonian hosteria. We have categorised our accommodation below to help you know what to expect.
In Style Accommodation – Category 4
For accommodation in this category, style, comfort and location are the most important factors. They will give you a little extra in terms of comfort or a unique view of your surroundings. Our upgrade hotel in our Like a Gaucho in Sunny Salta trip offers colonial charm whilst the Estancia during our Riding with the Gauchos trip offers a unique experience of staying on a working ranch.
Standard Accommodation – Category 3
This is the category most of our accommodation falls in to offering small-scale charm, a great location and a friendly atmosphere. Traditional hosteria, guesthouses and small hotels all fit in this category. You can expect a traditional hosteria in our Sailing amongst the Glaciers trip. The accommodation in this category is generally selected for its surroundings, helping you to get the best out of the destination you are visiting.
Simple Accommodation – Category 2
This category is made up of cosy pousadas and simple lodges in locations which don’t offer as many choices when it comes to accommodation or where the location is the focal point. Our simple accommodation category offers you modest, yet reasonably comfortable accommodation options. When you take our Patagonia trek in Lace up your boots in El Chalten you’ll spend the night in a peaceful lodge in a village situated right in the heart of Los Glaciares National Park. The rooms are simple but they have all the necessary amenities.
Basic Accommodation – Category 1
This category really takes you back to basics during your Argentina trip. When you go on our Dramatic Torres trip you will be staying in a refugio (Spanish for shelter). You’ll sleep in a bunk bed and you’ll share facilities with other hikers. Although the shelter is basic, we find that spending the night in a refugio is a great way to meet fellow trekkers and share travel stories. This really adds to your overall trekking experience! If you extend your Torres del Paine trip and book our W-trek then you will get the opportunity to stay at several different refugios along the way.
We also include overnight bus trips in this category of accommodation. Each of the buses we book has a toilet on board and fully reclining chairs, making it easier to get some sleep.
