From Ksamil to Corfu
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – Welcome to Ksamil
The crown jewel of the Albanian Riviera, Ksamil lures travellers in with its picture-perfect setting. Adorned by the emerald waters of the Ionian sea on three sides and fringed with the wetlands of the Butrint National Park on the fourth, the peninsula is a blissful place for a beach break. With plenty of bars, cafes and beach clubs, it’s got that holiday vibe that instantly makes us happier! Here you’ll stay in small rustic bungalows hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the main town but within easy reach to everything you’ll need. The accommodation is fairly simple, but what surrounds you will more than make up for the lack of fancy amenities.
Day 2 – Pop into Greece
Fancy ticking off another destination while travelling through Albania? With the Greek island of Corfu being so close to Ksamil you can almost touch it, it’d be rude not to pay a visit! Today you’ll hop on the boat and explore Corfu town with your guide. Walk down the cobbled streets, explore local palaces and take in the views from the fortress. After the tour, take your time to wander around at your own pace, sip a cold frothy frappe and treat yourself to a lunch at one of the typical tavernas. And don’t forget to catch the return boat back to Albania!
Days 3-4 – Free time and departure
The rest of your time in Ksamil is free for you to do as you please. Explore the many beaches (the ones on the western side tend to be less busy in peak season) or venture off to the most romantic archaeological site in Albania – Butrint, a short drive from Ksamil. On your final day after breakfast you’ll continue your journey to the next exciting stop on your itinerary.
