Cultural Korca
Bite-sized tripDay 1 – The road to Korca and a cheese factory visit
Today you’ll drive to Korca, which is quite the adventure. The winding narrow road isn’t the smoothest, and getting to your destination might take a good few hours (don’t quote Google maps). To break up your journey, we’ll arrange a tasty stop for you: on your way you’ll visit a cheese factory. And not just any, but one with a very unusual setting: the Cold War bunker. There’s a handful of these post-communist buildings scattered around Albania, with many being repurposed (cheese factory is hands down our favourite transformation). During your tour you’ll learn about the local cheese production and of course won’t leave hungry as the tasting is included. In the afternoon you’ll reach Korca, the cultural capital of Albania, where you can check local museums, marvel at the cathedrals and mosques or stroll along the wide boulevards just like the locals do.
Day 2 – Farewell to Korca
From here you’ll continue your journey onwards to your next destination. Depending on the distance, you may still have time in the morning to wander around the city before getting back on the road.
